Richard Mille Rm 56-01 Sapphire Crystal Tourbillon Watch 2013 Sihh Watch Exhibition Debut

Since it was unveiled at the SIHH in Geneva, the limited edition of 5 pieces of RM 056 sapphire tourbillon two-second chase hands chronograph has been owing to its simple shape, detailed movement, The case made of sapphire crystal shocked the entire watch industry. This revolutionary work in the watch industry has pushed the design and innovation capabilities of Richard Mille Watch Factory to an unattainable level.

Despite completing this technological pioneering work, Richard Mille continues to challenge the limits of top-end timepieces, creating the 2013 sapphire crystal RM 56-01 sapphire watch. Richard Mille worked with top jewellery factory Boucheron to develop the RM 018 watch with full sapphire crystal double plate, and later produced the RM 056 with full sapphire crystal case, which combined the development of these two watches. The research on the material of sapphire crystal (Al2O3), combined with the exquisite hollowing craftsmanship of the watchmaker, has finally achieved this peerless work with a transparent movement, RM 56-01.

Richard Mille uses a transparent sapphire crystal plate to support the entire manually wound tourbillon movement, which brings a bright and moving appearance to the RM56-01. The movement has hours and minutes display at 11 and 2 o’clock There are power reserve display and torque indicator at the position, and a function selector at 4 o’clock. This pursuit of extreme transparency in titanium movements has also inspired watch factory engineers’ determination to build the central bridge plate and the third round with sapphire crystal. The surface of the central bridge plate is textured, which obviously increases strength on the one hand, and also on the other hand Great weight reduction. The RM56-01 movement, which is made of sapphire crystal and titanium, can withstand severe temperature changes and resist friction. It has amazing chronological stability and is a classic masterpiece for stopwatches.

The three-part case is inspired by RM 056. Each part, such as the bezel, main dial and caseback, is chiseled from a single piece of sapphire crystal. It has to be processed 24 hours a day, 24 hours a day, in order to achieve this case without any external structural assembly, and a special computer-aided engineering processing equipment specially used to process RM 56-01 must be purchased. All sapphire crystal parts are finished by Lyss in Switzerland, an expert who deeply tanned the material. The case fits perfectly on the wrist. The RM56-01 movement is assembled with 24 grade 5 titanium spline screws, and has a transparent nitrile rubber 0-ring, which is waterproof to 30 meters.

The design of the strap pushes the transparency to the extreme. Biwi SA has collaborated with Richard Mille to develop a new material called Aerospace nano®, made using nanotechnology, with unparalleled transparency and endurance. The nano-reinforcement in the manufacture of Aerospace nano® is a pioneering work in the watch industry. Its elasticity and hydrophobicity add a soft touch and excellent comfort. The strap of the RM 56-01 is itself a classic use of materials.

The RM 56-01 sapphire crystal watch is the perfect work of Richard Mille’s beautiful transparent technology. The processing of sapphire crystal is an extremely difficult top-level craft, so only RM 56-01 is issued in a limited edition.
Summary: The watch is made of a sapphire crystal case, and the strap is made of a new Aerospace nano® material. It is made of nanotechnology and has unparalleled transparency and endurance. Due to processing difficulties, only five watches are available for sale.
